Blocked Account for Visa Applicants
Blocked Account for Visa Applicants

The Blocked Account is the most critical financial document in your visa file; without it, visas are automatically rejected in most cases. It is a special bank account where the applicant deposits a specific amount before traveling to prove financial self-sufficiency. For 2026, the required amount for a student visa is €11,904 per year (€992 per month), and €13,092 per year for the "Opportunity Card." The account can be opened digitally through accredited providers such as Fintiba or Expatrio, typically taking one to three business days.
